The formation of the practice is as a result of the joining of two principle design engineers, structural engineer Ali Ahmed and civil engineer Stephen Forber. The new company can trace its origins back to 1997 when Stephen first set up Spiteri Forber Technical Services to offer civil engineering design services to predominantly residential developers. Since that time the practice has changed its name and expanded its experience to include a full structural design service.

Stephen Forber Civil Engineer

Stephen has gained over 20 years experience initially with Bovis Homes, joining them as a trainee engineer in 1990. After attaining a HNC in Civil Engineering and studying a CEng degree at the university of East London, took the decision to set up on his own in 1997 after reaching the level of senior engineer. From 1997 to the present day Stephen has worked as a consultant to private individuals and corporate clients alike supplying a wide range of civil engineering design services from single dwellings to multi-phased large scale housing developments for some of the largest speculative house builders in the UK. Over the years he has also gained experience in planning matters and has produced many house type working drawings schemes, including timber frame and assessments for code compliance for sustainability, working closely with developers and many housing associations.

Ali Ahmed Structural Engineer

Ali heads up the structural engineering and is a Chartered Structural Engineer with over 15 years of design and project management experience. This has been gain working as a principal engineer, project manager, senior engineer, structural design engineer, project engineer and engineering technician on various projects up to £75m. Ali has worked with medium and large consulting practices both here in the UK and abroad. His extensive knowledge of structural engineering enables him to design virtually any structure from small retaining walls right through to multi storey steel frame and reinforced concrete buildings.

Amanda Forber Manager

Amanda is effectively the practice manager and looks after the day to day running of the office and administers the paperwork and accounts. She has worked along side Stephen from the inception helping to keep the ship on the straight and narrow!
